Purpose: 

The purpose of the APWA-NC Chapter Diversity Committee is to ensure that we place value on all individuals and the different perspectives of those individuals by promoting a process for all to feel included as part of the whole.  We serve the public.  Therefore, the staff of the Public Works Department needs to reflect the diversity of its customer base so as to best understand our customers’ needs.  We are dedicated to creating a more inclusive community in all realms of service grounded in respect and appreciation for individual differences.
