The Facilities and Grounds Division organizes to support the professional growth of men and women whose responsibilities include the operation, management, or maintenance of public buildings, grounds, or parks. Members have access to a support network, fellowship, and resources for exchanging and developing ideas, information, skills, knowledge, and technologies.
The Facility & Grounds Division:
•Hosts the Annual Spring Conference . This is a great opportunity for individuals to obtain educational knowledge, as well as networking opportunities with people in similar positions across the State. Attendees may apply conference CEUs toward the new APWA Facilities & Grounds certification.
•Coordinates a two-hour pesticides certification class for individuals that have a NC Pesticides License in the Spring that is held in conjunction with the ODB Equipment Show. The show and the class are held annually at the JB Hunt Complex on the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
•Conducts a one-day Fall Workshop on a current topic relevant to local government facilities and grounds professionals. Our goal is to identify a topic and a speaker that can share knowledge and firsthand experience with attendees.
