The Awards Committee accepts nominations for Chapter Awards in the spring. Award recipients will be recognized during the State Chapter Annual Conference and Exposition usually held in June and in front of their peers at an appropriate time. The chapter awards are: Robert S. Hopson Leadership Service Award The Robert S. Hopson Leadership Service Award is presented annually by the APWA-NC Chapter to recognize a North Carolina public works official working above the supervisory level for outstanding service and meritorious achievement in local government service. Kueffner Award is presented annually by the APWA-NC Chapter to recognize individuals who are employed in public works in a position at or below the front-line supervisory level for outstanding achievement in local government service. More... Robert S. Linkner Private Sector Service Award The Robert E. Linkner Private Sector Service Award gives formal recognition of an honorary character to persons who have continuously served the American Public Works Association while working for a single, private sector organization. Eligible persons for this award must have been focused on public works in an official capacity ofr a long term of years and have made contributions to the advancement of Public Works and the North Carolina Chapter as a long term member of the APWA. Jean L. Seals Chapter Service Award The Jean Seals Chapter Service Award is presented annually by the American Public Works Association - North Carolina Chapter to recognize a non-APWA member for outstanding service to the Chapter. The purpose of this Award is to recognize individuals who have supported Chapter members serving in leadership roles in fulfilling their obligations to APWA-NC. The Award recognizes the efforts of non-members in helping members to excel in their contributions to the Chapter and the profession. The Chapter Board knows that special people, who too often go unnoticed, support any success enjoyed by the Chapter or by individual members. Greeley Local Goverment Service Award gives formal recognition of an honorary character to persons who have continuously served a local public agency in an official capacity of a long termof years and who have contributed to the advancement of public works practice as a member of the American Public Works Association. President's Award The President’s Award is given at the sole discretion of the North Carolina Chapter President to recognize individuals whose efforts contribute to the success of the Chapter. More... Robert K. Seals Distinguished Service Award The Robert K. Seals Distinguished Service Award is the highest recognition given by the North Carolina Chapter. Nominations for this award are solicited during the March Board meeting. The Awards Committee reviews the nominations and brinsg two names back to the Board for a secret ballot selection process during the May meeting. The winner of the award is based on a majority vote of the Executive Board. More... Streets Division Achievement Award The Streets Division Achievement Award allows us to recognize an outstanding public employee working in the profession of street maintenance or construction including but not limited to directors, superintendents, engineers, supervisors or field workers.
